New Contest Ideas

That should be all fixed now.  Whenever I add new forums, I have to go in an change the permissions one by one.  Pretty tedious actually.  Anyway, I sometimes slip on on a few .  Sorry about that !

As far as the caption contest, maybe make it a set length 10 12 weeks or longer and the winner is the one that comes up with the most voted on captions over all.

The winer could end up not actually winning any single week but coming in second or third all the way through.


As for story competition.

They can be very real, and very different because the contest doesn't have to be just describing the photo. But you could choose to write about everything that lead up to being the way the photo is. Could be the very details of the bondage itself. Works good for working on desriptive writing. Or another could take it as the photo is the start of the rest of the story.

So starting with a photo can create a great many out comes.

But the photo choosen has to be some what flexible in the arrangement. or maybe a few extras laying around for what wight come or what has taken place already.

phoebe - Glad to hear it.  I have started to send some emails to various webmasters to get permission to user their images.  I will send you an email with more details.

newplay - Not exactly.  We are talking about a caption contest.  Everyone would come up with one-liners based on the image and vote on them the following week.

GU, i'd be happy to do this thing, though by setting up booths do you mean starting a voting thread?

I'll assume then that you or somebody else will post a photo where we can all comment on.

What day would be best to post the photo? Perhaps Sunday?

Actually any day is good for me. So let me know.

Abrank, I too wish for another writing competition and I feel we can have both if I'm guessing correctly the interest level of GU. <grin>

I wonder if this really could be worked out? Actually I see no real obstacle to it and GU I'll help where I can...

So... what if everyone is allowed only one caption to the posted bondage photo. And then at a time to be announced, as GU states the captioning is closed.

We vote, and the winner is handsomely rewarded with the knowledge of a superior wit! <grin>

That would be a good idea for a weekly contest.  It wouldn't be that hard to post an image, give people a few days to post captions.  The thread would be closed (by a moderator) and a new thread would be created for voting on the caption.  Except for closing a thread, all could be done by anyone in the forum.

The biggest problem I see, which may not be that big of a deal, is getting permission to post and image.  I am sure if we asked nicely there are a few sites that wouldn't mind that free exposure in trade for letting us post an image from their site.  (Most sites have preview images anyway)

It would be about 10-15 minutes worth of work each week, but would be a lot of fun I think.  I can speak with some of the webmasters of some sites if someone would like to volunteer to do the rest of the work (finding an allowed image, posting it and setting up the voting booth each week)

I too agree with tiedash and restricted!

I wonder if we could just use a unique bondage photo, post it here in it's own thread and everyone have a crack at it with their own posting below it being used in lieu of the text bubble.

The mind boggles. Probably the bondage will be even more boggling and interesting. The beauty of all this is that each can  give others ideas and while not "pinching" the ideas, can make them even more elaborate and interesting! 

I like the idea of the text bubble contest. To have a picture of a girl tightly bound with a bubble and people put what she is thinking on the picture!

One more thing I should mention is the storylines mentioned above are not necessarily the only ones that will be available.  They are only examples of 'some' possible themes.

Thanks for the feedback, it is what I am looking for.  It seems there is a good amount of interest in this type of a contest, so when things are ready I will post the details.

I actually find the 3rd theme more interesting than the others. It's always fun to write about a person who is forced into doing things she wouldn't normally do just because she needs money

Oh, and I also agree with R G Bargy and phoebe, I too have never been to a bondage shoot before so it could be a little difficult to write about it... but on the other hand, it would be fun reading what other people think happens during these shoots.

OK, perhaps I'm too naive.

Well, if that is the case then let your imagination run wild!   I would just write about what you think it would be like (or even what you would love it to be like!).
