"Script a Video" Contest - Event Date: Sep-12-2007 - Oct-10-2007

Have you ever wanted to see your story come alive?  See a movie made with your imagination?  Here is your chance!  Quality Control and The Bound Forum have teamed up to bring you one of the best contests to date.  Then again, all contests with great prizes are among the best!

Grand Prize Winner will have their story acted out by models in a complete photo and video shoot.  The winner will receive a copy of the photos and video taken along with a three month membership to Quality Control!!

2nd & 3rd place runner ups will both receive a one month membership as well!

The contest will run for 4 weeks (not including voting), starting September 12th and ending October 10th.  All entries must be in by midnight October 10th (EST) to be accepted into the contest.


Contest Guidelines

While there is not a 'theme' for the contest, Quality Control usually focuses on light to moderate bondage, self-bondage, mummification, institutional restraint, girl-next-door, hogties, mischief, and love to be as quirky as possible!  You can write your story about any topic except for the topics listed below (see Restrictions).  I would *highly* recommend you visit Quality Control's website and browse the preview area to get an idea of the type of work they do.  The closer your story matches their work, the better QC can bring your story to life!

Restrictions

1. No kidnapping, abuse, weapons (ie: character at gunpoint/knifepoint) or chemicals (ie: chloroform).
   
2. Nothing hardcore.  No pain, torture, S&M, etc...
3. Avoid overt sexual situations.
4. Shoots will not be done outdoors.
   

Frequently Asked Questions (Read This Often - It will be updated)

Q: If I win, can I request a specific model?
A: QC will do what they can to accommodate the request, however most models are booked well ahead and may not be available.  Their price must also fit within the preset budget for the shoot.

Q: I noticed a very cool [insert toy/restraint/furniture] on your site, can I use that in my story?
A: Yes

Q: Can I have male and female characters in my story?  What about multiple females?
A: Yes, you can have a male and a female character. For this time around, QC would like to stick with a single female character, if possible. This may change in the future.

Q: If I win, will I own the content photos and video?
A: You will be given a copy of the video and photos for your own personal use.  You will not have distribution, sale or reposting rights.  The content will be posted along with your story on Gaggedutopia's, Gromet's and Quality Control's websites for others to see and enjoy.

Q: Should we be writing scripts or stories?
A: All entries should be in story format.  Scripts will not be accepted. 

Q: Can I reuse a story that I have written in the past?
A: If it has been never been entered in a previous contest then it will be allowed.

Q: Should we aim for a specific time limit?
A: Write the story as you normally would.  If adjustments need to be made (such as if the whole story will not fit into one shoot), then we will ask the writer which scenes they would like shot.

Q: Is there a minimum length for the story?
A: The story should be at least 1,000 words, be descriptive and tell a story.  We are not looking for a few paragraphs describing your favorite position, but a story why she is in that position, etc...

Q: Where do I send the story once I have completed it?
A: You can upload your story on the GaggedUtopia Story Site.  Make sure you indicate that it is a contest entry at the start of the story !! http://www.utopiastories.com/code/show_submitstory.asp. 

Q: Can I send in multiple story entries?
A: One entry per person please.  We expect there will be a lot of people participating, so please only submit your best entry.

Hi DR1 - I have updated the FAQ on the page to answer your questions.  I thought about the first one as I was going to bed last night , but you got to it before I could post it. 

Perhaps I am missing it, but do we just upload the story as a post here?

It would be preferred if it was fresh, but an existing story can be used as long as it was never entered in a contest before. 

I have a story that I just wrote before I saw this. It explains a woman's self bondage that fits your themes well, then the story explains her being found. Should I submit the entire story and you can take leave to only do the parts that make sense to do on camera or should I edit the story to make it fit, exactly, your criteria?

Hey. I posted a story earlier this week on that site and never received any kind of confirmation. The thing said I would get a reply in 72 hours but it's been more than 3 days. I was just wondering if you guys were backlogged or maybe it didn't get through. Thanks.

On a side note to everyone.  There is less than a week to submit your entry for the contest!  If you can, please submit your entry early so it can be reviewed to make sure there are not any issues.

Looks like we have about a dozen or do entries.  I will be reading and prepping the stories for voting.  Everything should be ready by the 15th.

I had an awesome script worked out, but I think it would have been tough to get to video without at least a $250,000,000 budget.  It was an epic bondage adventure starring Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Stephen Colbert and Arnold Schwarzenegger.  I don't want to spoil the plot, but there's a 45 minute car chase, Greenland explodes, and Tom Cruise gets run down by a herd of buffalo.  It's a cinematic masterpiece.

Thank you GU for your work in setting up this contest! 

Most of the stories made for some really entertaining reading and it'll be fun to see when Quality Control makes the video.

Any idea when QC might start production?
