Are they actually the same thing? It looks like they are different but some would claim things like ''if you want to lube and help dress your latex, our lube will work'' it looks like they are actually the same. I would like to know if latex polish (used to shine) and latex lubricant (assist dressing) are same kind of chemicals? If I want to shine and take care of latex garments while dressing myself into it easily. Do I need to buy two bottles or just buying a bottle of lubricant or polish is oK

I use Gun Oil( http://www.stockroom.com/Gun-Oil-Lubricant-P1988.aspx ) for shine but it's sold as a lubricant. Of all the lubes sold it's the "best bang for the buck". But still not cheap.

For a better deal, on Fet', they recommend Silicone Oil in bulk: http://www.chemistrystore.com/Chemicals ... e_Oil.html

From what I've read, outside my own experience, EVERY shiner product is "greasy" and leaves a residue on what it touches, just the nature of the fetish.

As for the dressing aid part, I just use talc as I'm not a super duper latex fetishist, just a casual kinda perv' ;) If you have a FL account here's the link to the "primer" for dressing aids and shiner: How to shine latex and how to dress in latex - https://fetlife.com/groups/411/group_posts/711020

HTH's,

P.S. Oopsie's, forgot to answer the question :o Simply no, they are not the same thing. Although it's better to use lube as a shiner than to use a shiner only as lube.

EDIT: FYI: WATER BASED lube on your latex is a no-no ;)
