welcome back online
welcome back online
after the major problem with this site, welcome back you kinky naughty lot ^^
Re: welcome back online
Anyone know what happened?
Re: welcome back online
I have no idea....
Re: welcome back online
Browser tells me you have NO valid certificate
Re: welcome back online
I don't know what you mean by NO valid certificate and what does that have to do in welcoming people back here after this place went down.
Re: welcome back online
Gad the forum is back but whenever I log onto the site, my antivirus gives an alert that there is a security problem. Possibly this refers to the earlier comment about a valid certificate?
I suppose this is just a glitch with the new server.

Re: welcome back online
Yes I had that on my PC about this being a possible security hazard but I carried on as I didn't have that issue on my phone. Anyway glad this site is back up and running

Re: welcome back online
The errors were from not having an SSL certificate installed on the site. The old site didn't have one either so I'm surprised people didn't see this before. I installed one tonight so everything is secure now and shouldn't be any more errors.
The forum is now running on the latest software. The theme we used to run hasn't been updated in years so it won't work anymore. This one seemed nice so we'll give this a try for a bit.
If there are any issues, feel free to post them here.

Re: welcome back online
The old site worked on HTTP and just operated insecurely; this updated version redirects you to HTTPS, and it looked like it was picking up the bondagejunkies certificate, and producing a warning because it was for the wrong domain.
Re: welcome back online
I've had the same problems, either it's off-line or security warnings. But have noticed it's now running HTTPS and everything working fine now.
Getting the feel of the new design.. kind of like the Bondage Forum mansion has a new altered 'floorplan' but at least all the 'rooms' are still here.

Re: welcome back online
That was probably the difference. I knew I was going to put SSL on the site and I didn't feel like rewriting the config for HTTP just to switch it back.

Re: welcome back online
The forums are still present, but it appears that the embedded images are now gone.
Some were quite good and without them the threads have lost a lot.

The images aren’t showing, any ideas why? Not yet tried to access on my PC the issue is on an iPad.
Re: welcome back online
Don't know. I have no problems on my laptop or phone.

Re: welcome back online
Not all images are gone.
It appears that images that were embedded in the threads themselves are now all gone.
The sizes of images that could be embedded in the threads was quite small, so many people used external sites to host larger images and linked to them in the threads. THOSE images are still present.
I always embedded images in the threads because it meant nothing needed to be maintained, so anything I posted is gone.
I believe many others did the same.
This makes a few descriptions and many of the threads in the DIY area are now pretty much worthless.

Walking around in Leg Irons,
DIY Bilboes
The images seem to be restored now, but I know they were gone when the site first came back online because I was looking for those images.

Re: welcome back online
I couldn't find the threads you mentioned but I guess it's moot now.
If they are working now, it's likely because I re-enabled file attachments. I didn't know disabling the function would break existing attachments. There are so many picture hosting platforms now that I'd rather not host images. 10+ years ago those services didn't really exist so I allowed attachments.
I think I'll reduce the allowed file upload size to something unuseable and hopefully that will keep the existing images working fine.

Re: welcome back online
Shrug, I always preferred images to be available, so you can use them inline, and because image hosting sites, IME, aren't very stable. It's not like this site encourages dick pics...
Does phpBB have the ability to scale images down to a reasonable size? Or just limit the upload size?
