The forum does get pretty slow much of the time because it does not appear that we have a critical mass of people who share the same interests.

It is NOT dead, but definitely moribund. There are several reasons:
1) NOT any more, but the Moderators of the past were banning for life any minor infraction of rules ( even the ridiculous ones and there are still plenty of those
). Discouraging posters. The fact I am here and not banned is a proof that the current Moderators are more reasonable.
2) People go to social media more often or to forums which are more flexible. Once you get a reputation of being unfriendly ( see above) It is hard to come back.
