Re: Unusual Handcuffs

I don't worry too much about rust on the toys that get used a lot. You will find that even with nickel plating, they are not all that rust resistant. If the rounded edge makes them more convenient to use, then I would just file on them unless they have some historical or collector value. Rounded edg...

Re: Chained in Leg Irons

My Jailer decided this afternoon that I needed to spend some time in some jewelry. It had been a while since the last time. It wasn't anything fancy, just a pair of Peerless leg irons and a matching set of Peerless handcuffs. It would not have been hard to find a key to escape if I had found the nee...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

Regarding Darby handcuffs, they were in fairly common use for the military and police through about 1950 or 1960. Many of the collectible ones have the "Broad Arrow" MOD stamping typical of military equipment. Some of the Indian and Pakistani Darby copies are no worse made though they tend...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

I should post a photograph of the S&W 104 key beside a regular standard handcuff key. You will see that the 104 isn't just the standard key with a notch in the bit. The part that looks notched is actually longer than the standard bit. The key is also quite a bit thinner, so you cannot get a stan...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

I believe that fitting even a sewing needle between the center post and the edge of the keyhole would be difficult with a S&W Model 104 handcuff because the key and keyhole are so narrow. I am not quite sure what is the working part of the bit. You seem to be quite analytical, but I don't know i...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

The older S&W Model 90 handcuffs were much better made than the current production Model 100. I don't know if the Model 104 is better made than the Model 100 because my sample size is much smaller and I have not encountered any messed up ones yet. I am not sure if you have seen my thread on S&am...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

As for "Hot y work", most of the older Tower cuffs had chains that were forge welded as did the Hiatt Darby cuffs. The modern Indian copies of Darby cuffs are generally just brazed. Smith & Wesson cuffs without the prominent exposed rivets in the lock body which I believe means all of ...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

Do your Chinese H&R handcuffs have a raised ridge on each side of the double arms that the single jaw swings through? If they do, then they are the newer type. If they do not, then they are the older ones. Considering that you commented that they are on the small side, I suspect they are the old...

Re: Buying Heels

The problem with the leather pumps was that I probably wasn't paying as much attention to details in the photograph as I should have been. The photograph wasn't quite a side view. I liked the look, and the price was very good, so I don't regret the purchase. I believe that many times it isn't the ac...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

I am not sure the "Chinese" handcuffs you have are a great indication of their designs. Chinese make knockoffs of just about everything and often do a very mediocre job of it. The Chinese copy of the H&R on the other hand ARE an indication because they are not really a copy. They copy ...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

Do you have the older version or the newer version of the Chinese H&R? The newer version has raised strengthening ridges on each side like the Crockett & Kelly handcuffs. They are noticeably larger than the first version. The original Chinese H&R copies without the raised ridge had some ...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

These Chinese copies of H&R handcuffs are of typical Chinese manufacture. There are many places with sharp edges and places where some of the "flash" from metal stampings still remains. The manufacturers don't bother cleaning up the stampings, They just chrome plate everything. As with...

Re: Buying Heels

Just picked up a very nice pair of leather pumps with super high heels. The photographs were a little misleading. They didn't look quite as high as they actually were. Picked up a pair of Mary Janes with a 4.5 inch heel but a 1/2 inch sole, so it really feels like a 4 inch heel. Both fit quite well ...

Re: Unusual Handcuffs

I am currently locked in a pair of the newer Chinese H&R handcuffs. This isn't really self bondage though because it was at my Jailer's insistence and She took the key with her when she left the house.' So I am quite securely stuck here until She returns with the key. These handcuffs are fairly ...

Re: What do you most often use?

Recently it has been a set of S&W Model 90 handcuffs. They are obviously old (have not been made since the 1970s) but seem to be made of very tough steel and need to be broken in.
These look like the classic image of police handcuffs.

Re: Chained in Leg Irons

Yesterday, my Beautiful Jailer decided that I needed to spend some time in chains. She put a pair of handcuffs on my wrists and then a pair of leg irons on my ankles. Another pair of leg irons was wrapped around the bottom of a bed frame and then both of those cuffs were used to hold my handcuffs an...

Re: Chained in Leg Irons

We have used many different kinds of leg irons and handcuffs. Towers are quite a bit heavier as are Dungeon Delights manufactured ones and various types made in China. These S&Ws were used mainly because they were convenient and simple. This was not an elaborate or well planned session. The Chin...

Re: Chained in Leg Irons

That weight specification sounds about right. As stated earlier, there is nothing special about these but they are used quite often by American law enforcement. This set is one without external rivets in the case which means that they were manufactured in 2011 or earlier. As stated in my thread abou...
